Whistle Stop Ale House's New Home!

Photos - Architects Vision - Old Building

02/19/04: Many have wondered and inquired recently as to the last day of operation for the corner pub known as the Whistle Stop Ale House. Over the years people of many walks of life have sat and pondered the topics of the day. From the first Olympics in 1896 in Athens Greece, World War I and World War II, the great depression and the first flight at Kitty Hawk, thousands of individuals have used the Whistle Stop formerly known as the Eagle Saloon (1896-1958) as a meeting place, watering hole, house of illrepute or just plain distraction from their lives. It is with great pride and honor that Melinda, Jeff, Georgia, Benjamin, Maxwell and the entire staff of the Whistle Stop Ale House (March 13, 1995 - February 21, 2004) invite you to be a part of the final day of operation at 340 Burnett Ave. S. This Saturday February 21, 2004. There are no plans set in stone for any specific time everyone will arrive, except to say we anticipate toasts and tears to happen from time to time.

Please know we at the Whistle Stop Ale House are honored and proud to have had the opportunity to be a part of this warm and wonderful location in beautiful downtown Renton. Any pictures you may have or memorabilia you would like to share that depict the years gone by, please feel free to bring them with you and share your stories.

On a different note, I would also like to inform all of the much anticipated introduction of the Whistle Stop Ale House
2.0 OPTIMIZED. We expect to be open the following week around Friday or Saturday. But please don't quote me on that. We still have a couple of hurdles to overcome, mainly the Liquor Control Board, Health Department and of course our final occupancy permit.

If you are not aware of our new Location it is but a stones through across the park known as Tonkins, home of our beloved concrete donkey (that has run away from the mines).
809 S. 4th St. on the SE corner of 4th and Williams.

Thank you for all your support,

Jeff and Melinda Lawrence

We want you to know that we are in the process of remodeling the old “Sessions” Grocery Building, just to the south and east of our current location.

Note: For those interested in lending a hand during our building and moving process, please give us a call or send an
email. If you'd like to keep track of our progress, just signup for our events list.
